I have a Leica LAF 1200 and I've ranged live oaks trees out to 1222yds. I can't see spending that kind of money for the Huskemaw. Anyone able to explain why my leica will range the dark leaves on a live oak a lot faster and farther than the lighter color of the needles of a pine tree? I didn't know what the color spectrum is for the laser. Where's UMAC when you need him???!!!

Patience, long range hunters. Do not be discouraged by what you "read" on the Huskemaw website.

I too would like to know when it will be available and how much. And of course all of the technical info. I have a very important hunt coming up in this next month and need a range finder. I hope it is out by then so I can look at it and make my decision.

Rangefinder is still in development and should be available in limited quantities by July, 2010.

Do you need some unbiased field testers for it? I would be willing to test one out for you. :P

Huskemaw RF is going to have a hard time going up against the new Leica 1600 Range finder that is priced under $800. We will all have to wait and see?

I was told that the Leica was being sold to the sporting good stores at $930.00. Then they will put their little price on it and I bet it will be a grand to the customers. This info I received from my buddy who works at a gun store. Take it for what it is worth. I guess we will have to wait and see what they really come to.

The Leica 1600 is being advertised as in stock at Adorama Camera and also Midway at $ 799.00 - there could be more places but if those two have it I would guess that is what the market price is.

Sweet cowboy thanks for the info I will pass it on to my buddy and maybe he had bad info. I guess I did. I almost wish I saw this before today. I bought a Zeiss 1300 TRF about a month ago. I think I would have waited if I knew it was coming out so soon. I thought it would be into August/September before it hit the market. Well that is what I get for thinking!!!LOL

By any chance is this coming rangefinder gifted with true ballistic range? I just bought the new Bushnell fusion 1600 rangefinding binoculars and they are very clear, ranges very fast, ranges trees out to 1400 yards black cattle out to 775 yards, all being said not bad, but they only give true ballistic range on bow mode, not rifle mode as advertised, so back to Cabelas they go. We definatly need one with TBR out to a 1000 or more.
