Eberlestock pack

Eberlestock pack

Postby Cavtrooper94 » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:33 am

I'm looking into getting an Eberlestock pack but don't know what to get. I am moving to Alaska in the Fairbanks area. I don't know what kind of trips I will be able to afford so I'm looking for a pack that will support a DIY hunt and allow me to pack out a Moose. I'm open to not only the hunting versions but also the military versions, as I could use it at work. What do you guys think.

Thanks Much

You'll enjoy the state of AK. I've lived in Anchorage, and found that there are several good backpacks for packing, sold up there. The prices will vary, but the eberlestock would work just as well. The summers in Fairbanks can be hot. Enjoy your time up there..

I currently have the Dragonfly Eberlstock pack and love it for Long DIY trips. I did a 9 day float caribou hunt on the north slope of alaska and had no problem carrying quarters with this pack. Holds well. Its not light 8 lbs but for 3 day or longer pack its hard to beat. Hope that helps. Also if you get their pack, their bladders are great.
